Behind the camera

I'm Cadence, a freelance photographer based in Crossville, Tennessee, working with couples, families, and small gatherings throughout the surrounding area.

By day, I do graphic design and media work for a marketing agency here on the Plateau: brand decks, campaign assets, deadlines. Photographing couples and families is the opposite of that: no client brief, no strategy meeting, just people showing up as themselves for an hour.

I studied marketing at the University of Georgia, which is honestly where the eye for composition and story came from. I just prefer pointing it at a kid who won't look at the camera over a quarterly campaign. I've called the Cumberland Plateau home since 2014, and most sessions happen within a short drive of Crossville.
